Authenticity Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
“Being authentic doesn’t mean showing up exactly the same way in every situation.” ~Peggy Klaus
Every day, you move through a variety of situations—naturally, you adjust how you communicate, lead, and connect because the situation calls for it.
Sometimes the moment calls for you to be forceful and decisive. Other times, it calls for patience, diplomacy, or just observing and listening.
Does that make you inauthentic?
Of course not.
They are all you.
For me, authenticity has never meant acting the same way in every situation. It means knowing who you are, what you value, and which part of yourself needs to come forward to best serve the moment.
So instead of asking, “Am I being authentic?” try asking:
“What does this moment call for—and how can I respond in a way that is true to my values and best serves the situation?”
Now that’s authentic!
