What’s the Cost of Being Liked?
A few months ago, I shared the launch of my new program, UNSTOPPABLE CONFIDENCE, and I am thrilled by the response. Organizations, conferences, women’s groups, and the media are embracing its message, recognizing just how vital confidence is to women’s leadership and impact.
This September, I’m honored to bring UNSTOPPABLE CONFIDENCE to South Africa, where I’ll work with 35 women scientists from across the globe to explore the power of bringing confidence, courage, and their unique brilliance to their roles as scientific leaders.
That brings me to this month’s reflection. In my work, I hear a recurring theme from women leaders everywhere: How do I lead with my own authenticity, combining strength with warmth? It’s a tension I know well—and one I unpack in this month’s piece, The Likeability Trap: Because You Didn’t Come This Far to Be Quiet.
From early conditioning to leadership double standards, I explore how women can shift the question from “Do they like me?” to “Do I respect how I’m showing up?”
I’d love to hear how this resonates with you—and, if you’re curious about how Unstoppable Confidence could support the women in your organization or network, let’s connect. UNSTOPPABLE CONFIDENCE could support the women in your organization or network, let’s connect.
