Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about those last three words:
Without blowing it.
Without monopolizing the conversation.
Without exaggerating, embellishing, or lying.
Without making everything about you.
But braggadocio infiltrated our culture.
Bigger and often untruthful claims. More self-congratulation. More insistence that everyone pay attention.
We’ve gone from hiding our accomplishments to broadcasting every opinion, achievement, and experience. Visibility has become its own currency.
